Racing to benefit medical causes: 2 October events (Medford and Milwaukie)

There a lot of great races for really solid causes out there. Here are a couple smaller races in October  that benefit some great causes this October.

The 2nd annual Helen’s Princess Dash – A Royal Race for All, is hitting the Bear Creek Trail (starting at Southern Oregon Gymnastics) in Medford on Saturday, October 8th at 9am. The race features a 10k & 5k, costs only $25, and benefits the Children’s Organ Transplant Association (COTA) – a national charity that raises funds for transplant-related expenses.

The  2nd annual Run for Resilience Ostomy 5k comes to Milwaukie on Saturday, October 15th. This fun run is only $15 (includes a shirt) and completes an out-and-back from Riverfront Park in downtown Milwaukie, along the historic Trolley Trail. Following the race, there will be a health fair, complete with activities for kids and booths for adults. The event will “educate, support, and raise community awareness about people living with ostomies including urostomy, ileostomy, and colostomy”.  All proceeds from the race will go to the United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc.
