Race Preview: 2016 Overflowing Hope 5k (Forest Grove)

Overflowing Hope 5k

The Overflowing Hope 5k Race for Water takes place in Forest Grove on Saturday, September 10th. The event  is a fundraiser for World Help to dig a water well in the area of Zacapa, Guatemala, with a goal to raise the $5,000 necessary to build one shallow water well. The race starts and ends at "His Church" in Forest Grove, heads west, and then winds through the nature area along B Street Trail before returning back to the start line. Participants of all speeds and abilities are welcome!

Clean water changes everything. 663 million people live without access to clean water—that’s approximately 1 in 10 people worldwide. Without clean water sickness plagues communities, economies suffer, and children don’t go to school.

We’re racing to change that for the people living in the area of Zacapa, Guatemala, giving them access to clean drinking water by raising funds for a shallow well. The funds will benefit the humanitarian organization World Help. World Help has been around since 1991 and in that time they have helped drill over 600 wells!
