The 22nd Annual Blackberry Jam Festival kicks off in Lowell, Oregon on Friday, July 29 and runs through Sunday, July 31. In addition to some amazing music, crafts, food (including a pie eating contest), a car show, parade, a quilt show, a fishing derby, and kids activities, register to participate in the Devils Dam Dash 5K.
Lowell is located in the Willamette Valley, 20 mile southeast of Eugene. This festival is an incredible way to spend a summer weekend, and is for the entire family. Blackberry Jam Festival hours are: Friday 5 pm – 10 pm, Saturday 10 am – 10 pm, Sunday 11 am – 4 pm.
Now onto the details for the race! The Devils Dam Dash 5K, sponsored by Rattlesnake BBQ, takes place on Sunday, July 31, 2016 at 10 a.m. The start/finish is at Lowell High School. In addition to the 5K, there will be a 1K Kids Fun Run. Participating in the event will be at 2016 Mountain West League Champion Lowell Red Devils Girls Basketball Team, too, with proceeds benefiting the Lowell Girls Varsity Basketball Team. The course will take you through the lovely city of Lowell to Lookout Dam. After the race, water and snacks will be available. Dogs are allowed in the race on a leash. Prizes for the first place male and female finishers will be awarded. Professional chip timing provided by Eclectic Edge Racing. The event cost is $20 for the 5K run (or walk). The 1K kids fun run, for participants under 10, is $10, or $15 for entry with a shirt.
