Race Preview: 2016 Color Vibe 5k (Salem)

Summer is a great time to get out there and participate in some races with friends and family who may not otherwise share the same passion as you. We could all use a little more "have fun" type of races, intersperced between all of our training and racing. There are lots of great options out there in the way of adventure races (from mud and obstacles to colored dye), but for those in the Mid-Valley, check out the Salem Color Vibe 5k on July 30.

The course snakes through the Oregon State fairgrounds and stays primarily on pavement (meaning that strollers are able to traverse it with no issues).  I have participated in this before with a few friends and family who don’t run nearly as much as I do. It is a great low-key and family friendly event, with enough people to have strong energy, but not too much to feel super overwhelmed. Kids are also free up to 12.
