Race Preview: 2016 Balloon Blast Kids Race

.

Have a young runner in the family?  Or hoping to inspire a young runner to participate in the sport?  On July 23rd, Lay It Out Events presents the Balloon Blast Kids Race for kids between the ages of 3 and 10 years old.  This is the 6th race in the Kids Rock The Race Series  to encourage kids to get outside, lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy the thrill of running their own race.

The run is taking part in conjunction with the Balloons Over Bend Children’s Festival and the kids’ race will start in the early afternoon, so make a day of it and enjoy the festival before hand.  On Saturday, the 23rd of July, the balloons will launch at sunrise at R.E. Jewell Elementary in Bend, Or.  Other activities for the festival include a bonce house, bike rodeo, JD’s Flying Dog Show, bingo, bubbles, face painting, crafts and so much more.

Entry into the children’s festival on Saturday is included with the race registration!   So bring the whole family for a weekend of fun.

The Balloon Blast Kids Race will take place at Riverbend Park and start at Noon for the 3 to 4 year old participants with a 100 yard dash.  Following their race, the 5 to 7 year old kids will start at 12:15 pm with a 500 yard sprint and the 8 to 10 year old kids finishing the race at 12:30 pm with a 1.5 K run.  All participants will receive a finisher’s ribbon to commemorate their personal achievement,  a stamp on their race bib and be eligible for lots of cool prizes.
