Race Preview: 2016 Manzanita Beach Run

If you’re headed to the beach in July, consider running the 26th Annual Manzanita Beach Run on July 23rd. This is a true “beach run,” as participants will run along the hard-packed sand of Manzanita Beach. The out and back course takes runners and walkers out towards Nehalem Bay Jetty then turns around and takes them back to where they started. This course provides views of the ocean and Neahkanie Mountain.

This race is put on by the North County Recreation District, whose mission is “to promote the educational, recreational, social and physical well-being of the entire north Tillamook County community by offering activities for all ages and abilities in an inviting environment.”

This race includes a 5K walk and run, a 10K run, and a 1 mile kids’ run. Participants will enjoy music, post-race snacks, and raffle prizes. There will be awards for the top finishers, as well. Participants this year will receive a free entry to the Inaugural Manzanita Music Festival being held on July 23-24.
