Race Preview: Two Cities Summit Run 12K/8K 7/24/16 (Eugene, Ore.)

Level 32 Racing presents the Two Cities Summit Run 12k and 8k, taking placing Sunday, July 24, 2016 in Eugene/Springfield, Oregon.

This is a unique course and event. Check this out – if you choose the 8k event, you will finish at the summit of Skinner Butter in Eugene. If selecting the 12k event, you will complete two summits – one is Kelly Butte, and the other Skinner Butte. This sounds absolutely exhilarating to me!

Both distances start at Eastgate Woodlands Park in Springfield, and travel along the paved paths at Alton Backer Park. After crossing over the DeFazio Foot Bridge and passing through Skinner Butte Park, the 8k course will send participants to the top of Skinner Butte, with the finish line at the summit. Before heading not Alton Baker Park, the 12k will send participants on the bike paths out of Eastgate Woodlands Park to D Street, touring through the neighborhood, summiting Kelly Butte, then proceeding back to Eastegate Woodlands Park and following the 8k route to the finish line at the top of Skinner Butte. You can’t go wrong with either of these outstanding courses.

As this event features a point-to-point course for both distances, participants will park at Skinner Butte Park in Eugene, and board a shuttle that will drop you off at the starting line of Eastgate Woodlands Park in Springfield. You may catch either of the two shuttles, which will depart at 7:50 a.m. and 8:35 a.m. A bag check will be available, so you may bring your clothes or other small items on the shuttle with you, and then will be available for pick-up at the finish.

For both the 8k and 12k, awards will be presented to the overall male and female finisher, as well as the top three in each age group. Your entry fee of $25 includes the shuttle to the start line, a breakfast burrito from Chula’s and some beer tasting from Claim 52 Brewing Co. Race day registration is available for an additional fee, and technical event shirts are available for pre-purchase at $12 until July 15.

Secure you spot in the Two Cities Summit Run and enjoy either of these unique courses! It’s bound to be an outstanding time, as all Level 32 Racing events are!
