Small Race Preview: 3rd annual Lila May’s Tutu Trot 3K, 5K, 10K and kids race

Looking for a stunning course with scenic views and a touch of local history in the Columbia Gorge?  Check out Lila May's Tutu Trot along Hood River.  All proceeds from this event are donated to Solving Kids Cancer in memory of Lila who passed away in September. Registration is available online and closes May 5th, but hurry!  The first 100 participants to register will be given an event t-shirt.  T-shirts will also be available at the event while supplies last, as well as last year's event shirt for purchase for $5 to raise additional funds for the cause.  Each distance (3K, 5K and 10K) are $30 and children 12 yrs and under are invited to participate in the free kids run.

Event parking is very limited and carpooling is encouraged.  Parking is available at the venue, but will require a $5 fee for a State Park pass.  A large “grass lot” has been rented by the organizer for additional parking with a shuttle bus transporting participants starting at 7:30 am.

Bring your sass, spunk and spirit because costumes are encouraged.  Lila May clearly loved tutus and prizes will be awarded in the following categories:
1.) Best Male in a tutu
2.) Best Female in a tutu
3.) Best Kiddo in a tutu
4.) Best Dog in a tutu
5.) Best Stroller in a tutu
Don’t have a tutu?  No problem!  Tutus will actually be available for purchase at packet pickup.

Although our beloved princess Lila passed away in September, our memories of her will always live on. Join us as we celebrate her life and continue to love like Lila.  This year, we are proud to be donating the proceeds of this run to Solving Kids’ Cancer, a certified nonprofit organization based in New York that directly funds childhood cancer research. Lila benefited from their innovative trials and now we want to pay it forward for her.

About Robin York (151 Articles)
Robin grew up as a couch potato and did everything she could to get out of exercise, until one day a good friend would not stop talking about this fun 5k race she was doing. Finally Robin got off the couch and trained for this "fun" race using C25K (couch to 5k program). After crossing that first finish line, she kept going and became a "runner". After losing 80 lbs, gaining health, a love of being active and setting a healthy example for her husband and kids, she thinks she'll stick with this whole "running thing".
