Go Race Series – a new four-part evening race series scheduled for March and April at Cook Park in Tigard

Are you NOT a morning person? Do you struggle to get a run in before work? You’ll be interested in this new race series, the Go Race Series. It is produced by locally-grown Go Beyond Racing and developed after their very popular Portland Trail Series in Forest Park.

This new series consists of four races, all in Cook Park, near Tigard High School. They start at 6:30 pm on Wednesday evenings, so it’s a good way to get in a fun run after work or school. Each race is a different route, and they range from 3.2 to 3.7 miles in distance. The course is unveiled the Monday the week of the race. The dates are March 23, 30, April 6, and 13.

All are chip-timed and points are earned in each race, based on your finish time compared to the winning time. Your best three races are used to calculate your final score. The top three overall male and female winners will win prizes and age group awards go three-deep for under 20, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59 and 60+.

You must complete at least three races to be eligible for awards, but you can run just one or two races too; you just wouldn’t be eligible for series awards. There is an award ceremony after the final race and also a raffle where all participants can win prizes.

Registration is open now and is just $75 for the series. Alternatively, you can show up race day and pay $20 for that evening’s race.
