Now is the time to set goals for 2016 and if you want to start the new year off with a half marathon, quarter marathon or fun 5k, check out Uberthon’s Oregon Winter Half Marathon at the Reserve Vineyards and Golf Club in Aloha on January 23rd. A couple of years ago I discovered Oregon half marathons aren’t easy to come by in January. I was running thirteen 13.1’s in 2013 and they are sparse in the winter months. I’m disappointed the Oregon Winter Half Marathon wasn’t around back then. The best part about this race series, is that the course changes. Uberthons offers four half marathons in the Oregon Half Marathon Series for $250 or three for $200, a deal and great opportunity to see our state’s beauty one race at a time.
The Oregon Winter Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon and 5k will start at the Reserve at 8am on Saturday, January 23rd. The half marathon runs twice around the 36-hole path, the quarter marathon runs it one time and the 5k takes advantage of the 18-hole course. Pretty flat and completely on asphalt or concrete, there will be 8 aid stations with water and electrolytes along the course. All half marathon finishers will receive a 4” Oregon Winter Half Marathon Belt Buckle. All quarter marathon and 5k finishers will receive an Uberthon’s belt buckle.

Strollers are welcome, but furry friends are not allowed on the golf course. The venue opens at 7:30am and packet pick-up is available on race day, but participants are encouraged to pick them up ahead of time, so grab it early and sleep in a little bit. The Oregon Winter Half Marathon costs $75, the Quarter Marathon costs $45 and the 5k costs $38. All half marathon participants will receive a long sleeve running shirt. Because of the special venue, the course has a 3 ½ hour time limit.
