EXTRA Kickstarter of the Week: Bamboxers

From food to flooring to even construction material, bamboo is the new (new?!) hotness. They are the fastest-growing plants in the world (3 feet in a 24 hour period!), have a higher compressive strength than wood, brick, or concrete, AND posess a tensile strength that rivals steel (link). And even with all of those properties, it actually makes a very solid pair of underwear - thanks to Bamboxers. I first read up on Bamboxers via Kickstarter. The campaign expires on Friday, December 4, 2015 and will be funded. Kickstarter orders are only for $10/pair, a far cry from the $20+ that most (albeit great) underwear campaigns started their amounts at. From their campaign:

Bamboxers is a Seattle-based project determined to get in your pants. We’ve been working hard to make amazingly soft bamboo boxer-briefs (not regular boxers… yet) a reality for dudes everywhere. And we’re almost there.

Our product tester team included everyone from elite pro athletes, homebodies, PhDs, everyday ballers, international travelers, best friends, and all kinds of awesome in between. We had our testers run, skip, jump and philosophize while wearing product to make sure that our Bamboxer-briefs stood up to all the bragging we were doing.

We gave our testers plenty of time to try things out. Underwear is meant to be lived in, not just looked at, right? After that, we listened to their feedback, made some small tweaks, and finalized our designs.

I received a pair to try out, and I’ll tell you this – these puppies are luscious. I know that’s sort of a weird thing to say, but they are ridiculously soft. That being said, through a couple of wears, in both casual and athletic settings, they have good staying power. I felt supported in both arenas, and I haven’t yet experienced any considerable riding.

For the price point, these simply deliver. People think I am crazy to spend $20 on a pair of good boxer briefs, but the quality and comfort from better manufactured underwear is truly priceless. But to think that these are only $10 through Kickstarter, that is just downright amazing. IF YOU ORDER AND GET IN ON THEIR EARLY BIRD PRICING, THEY WILL SHIP BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS!
