I’ve sung Stevenson’s praises before, and I’m sure I will again, but if you haven’t yet had the pleasure, then their 10th annual Turkey Trot may be just the right excuse to see all this charming small town has to offer. Put on by Columbia Gorge Running Club, you’re sure to get a small, community centered race with what looks to be a lovely scenic course through town and along the river.
Hikers likely know Stevenson as an easy stopover en route to the Dog Mountain or Pacific Crest Trailheads, but like a lot of places, the charm goes deeper than the main drag might suggest.
Visitors to the area for the holidays might find it the perfect destination, or staycation for those of us in and around the Portland area, Thanksgiving day race. Afterall, it’s all about the pumpkin pie guilt mitigation right?
We’ll see you on the course!
