Current Goal: $15,000
Company: Public Rec is on a mission to modernize comfort for men, one pair of baggy sweatpants at a time. With a personalized length and waist sizing for a truer fit, these are pants that men can wear confidently in public – whether running errands with a significant other, catching a movie with friends, or heading to the gym with a buddy.
I am moving the Kickstarter of the Week to today to coincide with the launch of Public Rec’s All Day Every Day Pant.
Sweatpants are the best. There is just something amazing about the comfort of a nice pair. Unfortunately, wearing sweatpants in public generally isn’t something that many of consider doing. But I WISH I could wear sweatpants without looking a little odd in doing so. Perhaps these pants are my dream come true.
The goal of the campaign is to “create a better-fitting, more stylish alternative to sweatpants”. If you’ve been to the store or worn a pair of sweatpants, there seem to be only two options – baggy ones that drag on the floor or old sweats with elastic around the ankles. Neither are exactly “fashion-forward” and both come in limited, outdated sizing. Public Rec wants to update the sizing, style, and fit to bring back the comfort of sweatpants. They are made of a nylon/spandex blend, which makes them moisture-wicking. There is also a fake fly in the front, pockets in the back, and tapered at the ankles to give each pair an even more formal look.
The All Day Every Day pants will be available in personalized waist and length sizing (not just S/M/L) for a truer fit and the pictures show a style that seems appropriate for wearing in public without looking odd. In fact, I seriously have to do a double take when looking at the pictures because it’s really hard to even notice that they are sweatpants. This is something that I feel I could pull off on casual day at work, head to drinks with my wife, and then relax comfortably at home while I watch the Timbers play.

You can pledge and receive a pair for $86.
