Race Preview: TrailFactor 50K

Maybe it’s just me – I suspect not – but I have a huge running soft spot for Forest Park.  It’s where I took the training wheels off my trail running skills, and as a young college person where I first started to marvel at what an “urban” park could be like. I’m sure many Portlanders have similar stories and thoughts, so what better way to get out and show your support for our beloved Wildwood Trail than to get in on the Trail Factor 50k this Memorial Day.

It is, in fact, the only ultra held in Portland and of course will feature fan favorite Wildwood Trail along with some a little less famous trails to get up to the full 50k with about 4,000ft of elevation gain. The proceeds benefit the Forest Park Conservancy and it’s put on by the good folks of Go Beyond Racing, so you can look forward to some truly great trail support, helpful volunteers, and what’s sure to be an excellent post-race BBQ brought to you with help from the Lucky Lab.

If you haven’t signed up yet, unfortunately the best you can do is get on the waitlist or sign up to volunteer at this year’s event while you wait for next year.
