Race Preview: Color Dash 5k in Eugene

If you’ve ever had the thought, “Boy running is great, but it would be even better if there were a way I could get more gross and/or covered in stuff while I’m at it,” then the Eugene Color Dash is one of the many races for you.

I feel like I remember when color runs started to become things, thinking how cool it was that that was now something you could do. I definitely have had a thought or two about ways to get more nasty on runs, because for some reason trail running in Forest Park during a downpour isn’t quite mucky enough sometimes.  The bonus with the color runs idea is it’s a bit like your training wheels for the mud runs or spartan races, trail jogs, and other events where the intent is simply to get you 8 shades of disgusting by the end.  All in all, it’s a much more sanitary, and of course, colorful way to dip your toes into this novelty run pool.  The color is safe and made from 100% food grade corn starch, so you don’t have to feel weird about what may or may not be seeping into your skin as you run.

Plus, if your Mom is the athletic type, this could be a really fun way to commemorate the holiday – just think of those photo ops!  There will also be fun activities for runners of all ages at Camp Harlow so Moms with kids in tow will be able to keep everybody pretty happy.

You can register either as a family, individual, team, or look to join a team that’s already started.
