2015 Rock n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon brings Portugal. The Man to the main stage (and discount code!)

The 2015 Rock n’ Roll Portland Half Marathon is just around the corner. You probably know about the course changes, the shirt, the medals and what to expect, but something that lies near and dear to my heart is obviously the music. In addition to the numerous bands on the course, the headliner for the 2015 event will be Portugal. The Man.

Portugal. The Man hail from Portland and have reached the big time in the Indie/Alt Rock world with albums such as Evil Friends. They reached critical acclaim as far back as 2006 with Waiter: “You Vultures!” and Censored ColorsTheir musical style is sometimes a challenge for everyong to get into on first listen – with it’s combo of synth, varied style-infusions, and falsetto vocals. Their music videos are a little out there (but they’re from Portland, soooo….) and their live shows are generally considered legendary. The song Lay Me Back Down from the 2008 album is one of my favorites.

There is still time to register to run AND be able to see these guys live. You can save some money in the process by signing up before April 13th with these codes:

COURSE15 and save $15 off the half marathon
COURSE10 and save $10 off the 10k
