Some of my favorite races are trail-based events. For me, there’s a really unique feel to sharing trails, wether paved or not, with runners and it seems like maybe the perfect combination of the “getting amongst it” I love about running with the camaraderie and rush that comes with races.
Looking at the course maps for the Bridgeway Run for Autism 5k and 8k makes me nostalgic for some of those great trail run experiences I’ve collected since the course promises great views of the Willamette and both follow the paved bike trails most of the way. I also can’t really think of many better ways to spend a Sunday morning than tooling around Track Town, unless it’s looking forward to heading out for waffles at Off the Waffle post race. Add to it that you’re helping out a good cause, and you’ve got yourself a pretty solid weekend plan.
The Bridgeway Run is supported by the Bridgeway House with support from Eclectic Edge Racing. Bridgeway House is dedicated to providing treatment, enrichment, and therapy resources to children with autism and their families.
