On Saturday March 7th, 2015 get out and support the local law enforcement. Run for the Law is put on by a non-profit organization called Securing our Safety and all proceeds will go to help finding alternatives for funding law enforcement in Josephine County. The run will offer three distances with a 10k, 5k, and kids fun run along with food vendors, merchandise and other fun items. Run for the Law will be an event that is fun for the whole family.
Registration is available online until March 6th, and can also be mailed in. Pre-registered participants will receive race packets filled with coupons or items from sponsors. Packet pickup will be at Club Northwest in Grants Pass from 2pm – 7pm the day before the race. Dry wick adult and kids shirts will be available for order until Feb 21st, and should be ordered in advance because there will be a limited amount available on race day.
The 10k and 5k course starts and ends at Club Northwest (2160 NW Vine Street, Grants Pass, OR) and will have chip timing! The 10k and 5k will start at 9:00 am March 7th, and Kid’s dash for youth 12 and under will start promptly at 8:30 am. The courses are out and backs through Grants Pass.
Great prizes will be offered with a generous donation from CNW of a $1000 cash prize to the male 10k winner, and $1000 cash prize donated from Dr. Steven Marshak for the top female 10k finisher. Other race awards include: $150 for 1st place overall male and female in the 5K & 10K; $75 for 2ndplace overall male and female in the 5K & 10K; a medal for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place male and female overall and in each age category for runs. Age categories are: 0-12; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+. Everyone participating in the kids dash will also receive a ribbon.
Please no dogs, rollerskates/skateboards, bicycles, or headphones. Baby joggers are fine just please start near the back.
