A highly decorated Christmas Tree

Keely Linn’s 2014 Christmas Tree of running medals.

Keely Linn, a Salem runner, created this masterpiece out of all the medals she earned in 2014. “28 half marathons, 4 marathons, 1 15K, 2 10Ks, 2 relays … ” and fun runs and training miles logged made for a very sparkly look back at her 2014 running.

Run Oregon thinks this is a great way to display your medals, ribbons and awards; and a great conversation starter at a holiday party. Best off all, during a busy season jammed with parties, gift exchanges and trips to the post office, it’s a reminder of all the good times, great races and time you spent doing something good for yourself this year.

Whether you have enough medals to make a new tree each year or are selecting your favorites from over a longer time frame, feel free to share your running-themed Christmas decorations on the Run Oregon facebook page or tag run_oregon on Instagram!

We started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. We also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support local race organizers.
