Small Race Preview: Reindeer Romp and Bullwinkle’s Bash (Wilsonville)

Reindeer Romp

The 2nd annual Reindeer Romp and Bullwinkle’s Bash will take place in Wilsonville on Saturday, December 6th. This holiday themed fun run is great for the whole family, and with a 10k registration fee for the 5k run/walk and a free kids run, you really can’t go wrong.

The Wilsonville Reindeer Romp is organized by the city’s Parks and Rec department with support from the HEAL (Healthy Eating, Active Living) campaign, therefore you can expect it to feel more like a community fun event rather than a competitive race. Last year there was no race clock, no timing chips, no bag check, and the course was slightly short. On the upside, there were participants of all ages and fitness levels, we got reindeer antlers and red noses in our goodie bag, and the finish area was inside the Family Fun Center, where we got drinks, treats, and a full meal after the race.

The kids dash takes place at Town Center Park before the 5k starts, and if your kids are up for it, their free registration to the kids dash will also allow them to go on the 5k run/walk. The 5k runs on sidewalks and multipurpose paths, but even though the streets were open to traffic during the race, cones, signs, and volunteers kept participants safe and on course.
