Race Preview: Reindeer Run offers a Half Marathon, 10k and 5k on December 6th

The 5th Annual Reindeer Run is scheduled for Saturday, December 6th and will include a 5k, 10k and Half Marathon. Walkers and runners are welcome and all funds benefit the Columbia Toy-n-Joy, the Columbia Food Bank and the St. Helens Police Academy.  All participants will receive a technical t-shirt, refreshments, a gift at the finish line and an optional free massage. Half Marathon finishers will receive a custom medal and awards will be given to the top three male/female finishers in each age group. The course will be chip timed by Uberthons.

Add $5 to the following if registering after November 23rd:

5 k $45 (Students $30)

10K $55 (Students $40)

Half Marathon $65 (Students $50)

Held at Columbia River Foursquare Church (555 Commons Drive) in St. Helens, it’s a short (30-45 minute) trek from the Portland metropolitan area. Plus, with a start and finish at the Columbia River Foursquare Church, there will be flushing bathrooms available and an area to stay warm before and after the run. Refreshments, including coffee, cocoa and snacks will be provided after the run.

8:00AM Half Marathon Walk (3+ hour runners) begins

8:30AM Half Marathon Run begins

9:00AM 10k Run/Walk begins

9:15AM 5k Run/Walk begins

Packet pick up will be available on Friday, December 5th from 3PM-7PM at Columbia River Foursquare Church. You can also pick up your bib and packet on race day beginning at 7AM. Streets will not be closed for this event, but traffic should be minimal. The course looks to be relatively flat and will have miles markered with ‘Randy the Reindeer’ and volunteers. There will be plenty of aid stations, each including water, Gatorade and a Sani-can.

I’m excited this run is on a Saturday and holiday runs are always fun. Add Christmas music, refreshments and a massage at the finish line and there’s even more to be excited about. All speeds are invited and there are several distances to choose from; the Reindeer Run will be a fun way to get in the holiday spirit and benefit some great programs.
