I’m very pleased to announce that UberthonsTurkeython‘ has been named, by Competitor magazine, one of the 24 must do races in the United States for November and December.

Why am I not surprised? If you have followed my journey of participating in the Uberthons Oregon Spring Half Marathon in May, and the recent Halloweenathon at Meriwhether Golf Course, you’ll get a small taste of just how awesome Uberthons events are.

The Turkeython will take place on Thanksgiving day, Thursday, November 27. The course has moved to start/finish at Bridgeport Village in Tualatin. You may choose from a 5k or 10k run or walk, 10k 2-participant relay, and there is a Kids Trot for all the youngsters! The race is 75% full, so definitely get your family together and get registered really soon for this event, before it sells out!

Registration is $35 for the 5k for adults 18 and over, or $20 for participants under 18. The 10k distance is a double-loop of the 5k course, with registration at $40 for adults 18 and over, or $20 for those under 20. The 10k relay team for adults is $65 per team, and those under 18 can participate for $43. Brings the children along for the free Kids Trot. You may also be a virtual runner for $30. Your registration fee includes the impressive Turkeython finisher medal.

Also, big kudos to Uberthons for doing this. Bring a brand new toy or item listed (located at the bottom of the Turkeython website) to the Turkeython event. These items will be given to the children at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital!

I knew Uberthons races were great, and now Competitor magazine thinks they are great, too.
