October is breast cancer awareness month and Paint Me Pink 5k Fun Run is one more way to show your support, raise money to fight breast cancer and have some fun at the same time. One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime and it is the second leading cause of death among women. Held at Avery Park in Corvallis on Saturday, October 11th, there will be a 5k Run/Walk at 10 AM and a 1 Mile Run/Walk at 11 AM. There will be registration offered on October 11th.
Packet pick-up and registration will be available from 8:30AM-9:30AM at the Lions Shelter in Avery Park (1310 SW Avery Park Drive). The 5k is $10 for kids under 18 and $20 for adults and includes a t-shirt. Online registration closes on October 9th, so don’t delay if you want to guarantee a participation shirt. For anyone registering that morning, shirts are provided first come, first serve- so show up early. The 1 Mile Run/Walk is $10 and limited to 100 participants.
There will be music and fun at the finish line, not to mention the satisfaction of a completing a 5k and fighting breast cancer. Paint Me Pink 5k Fun Run is great Saturday morning option for people unable to run Sunday’s Race the Cure in Eugene. Sign up, get your pink on and do your part.
