Okay, really, I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But if you are interested in registering for an absolutely amazing Halloween themed run this year, you absolutely must sign up for the Uberthons Halloweenathon really, really fast. Why? Because as of this writing, only 98 entries remain available! Also, I have an update on the post-race “food bar” (Uberthons is famous for having a stand-out “food bar” after events). It has been decided the Halloweenathon will have a nacho bar! Hot doodles, I am super excited about this!
So what makes the Halloweenathon stand out among other Halloween races? Well, because you get to run on the golf course. That’s right! The entire north 18 hole golf course will be reserved for the event, and will be run on the paved paths zipping through the golf course. Check out the official course map here for more details. It looks like the 10k and 15k options will be loops using the 5k course, from reviewing the course map.
Choices, choices, choices. So now that you’re as excited as me about running on the golf course, how about deciding which distance you want to run? You may choose a 5k, 10k, or 15k Run For Your Bones. Also, there is a 15k relay option available! These three races all begin at 9 a.m. Feel free to have the family bring the kids along, too, as there will be a Casper Dash. This race starts at 11:15 a.m. Any kid, any size, any age, is welcome to run around the golf course on the designated paths. The length of the Casper Dash will be determined just prior to the event, when race organizers know the age of the kids participating. Last year, there was a 1k or 0.5k available for the kids to participate in. The Casper Dash is free. If you would like to purchase a medal for your pint-sized runners, you may pay $10 at packet pick-up or at the race for one – note availability is limited.
Nacho bar! Uberthons has announced the post-race food bar will be a nacho bar for 2014! Packet pick-up details are not yet available, but will be posted on the website shortly before the race date. Registration is $35 for the 5k; $40 for the 10k; $45 for the 15k, and $90 for the 15k Run for your Bones relay. These prices are valid before midnight on October 23, 2014.
And some of the most fabulous news of all about Uberthons races? All finishers receive an A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. finisher medal. These are super-super-super legit medals. For all you medal loving folks like me, it is totally worth the price of admission for the Uberthons finisher medals.
