According to their website, “A stunningly beautiful course in the scenic town of Leavenworth. Marathoners will start near the renown Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Runners will run a loop through the Icicle Canyon the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth through wooded riverfront trails. Mixed surface of asphalt and dirt trails. Surrounded by impressive mountains, you’ll likely see salmon spawning in the Wenatchee River and Icicle Creek. The half marathon events welcomes both runners and walkers. The marathon is limited to runners who will complete the course within the six hour time limit, due to course restrictions. The half marathon course is open for four hours”
TedDriven is an organization that supports cancer research and local charities. They will be donating proceeds from the Leavenworth Marathon to the Cancer Biology at University of Pennsylvania. What a great way to help cancer research!
If you’re wondering about the bling, we won’t leave you hanging! Each participant will receive official race apparel (not disclosed whether its a tech shirt or tshirt), finishers medal, post-race fruit, cookies, muffins, water, sports drink, course support (including water, sports drinks, food, and first aid), as well as accurate computer chip timing. Aid stations will be provided every 2-3 miles. So head up to Leavenworth for great music, fun, and a beautiful race!
