Race Preview: Sweet Treats 5k in Lebanon

With the saturation of weekend races in Oregon leading to races being cancelled, many people have thrown out ideas to shake things up. Some ideas that are always tossed out are putting on events mid-week or in the evenings. The Sweet Treats 5k, held on Thursday, August 21st at 7pm in Lebanon combines both of these things.

This race is put on by the same people as the Roaring Run @ Roaring River Half. The race will benefit Lebanon High School students travelling to France, Spain, and Italy in the summer of 2015.

In addition to the day and the time, even the running portion will be unique. The course will head along park trails along the shores of Cheadle Lake (a great park by the way) on both paved and gravel trails. Along the way, runners will be greeted with water stations AND stations full of international desserts for sampling! The event is chip-timed, but you may be missing out if you try to make this a PR race! This is a race that almost seems more like CR (calorie replacement) race than anything!
