The 2nd Annual Paws in the Grove Doggie Dash is scheduled for August 2, 2014 in Forest Grove. It’s a 1-mile and 2-mile run and walk designed for people to get in a little exercise with their dog; but if you’re more of a cat person (or just don’t have a dog), you’re invited too. All proceeds from the Paws in the Grove will benefit the Forest Grove Senior & Community Center.

Here’s what you need to know:
When: Saturday, August 2, 2014
What time: The runs start at 9:30a with the 2-Miler, followed by the 1-Miler at 12:30p.
Where: Lincoln Park at 2725 Main Street
Register: You can register online here or DOR starting at 8:30a for $15
There will be vendors to check out, live music from The Ventilators and the solo artist Scott Garcia, a kids’ entertainer named Chuck Cheesman, a Truffle Dog Demonstration, a pet agility course and a pet fashion show, plus food and other fun stuff for the whole family. Before I forget – one last note on the fashion show … they’re inviting all pup-ticipants to stop by and try on the stylin’ duds – your pooch could be on the runway!
I’m thinking it’s a fun thing to check out with my little one, who thinks dogs running (especially through water) is the most entertaining thing in the world … and it’s for a great cause!
Stay tuned to the Paws in the Grove facebook page for more about the vendors and performers, as well as race updates. See you there!

I started the Run Oregon blog in February 2007, because I felt like running in Oregon and SW Washington deserved more positive coverage. I also wanted to level the playing field so that small, non-profit races could compete with big events; and to support LOCAL race organizers. I'm a Creighton Bluejay (undergrad) and an Oregon Duck (Sports Marketing MBA), and I live in Tigard with my husband and two kids. My "real job" is working for an incredibly awesome math textbook company doing marketing and production.
