Race Preview: SHOC Empowerment 5k/10k on August 2 (Gladstone)

SHOC-Empowerment-5kThe 10th annual SHOC Empowerment 5k/10k will take place in Gladstone on Saturday, August 2nd. This event raises money for the SHOC Foundation for ovarian cancer research, awareness, and survivor support.

Both 5k and 10k start and finish at Team Latus Motors Harley-Davidson in Gladstone, OR. The 5k is a single loop around Clackamette Lake. The course is a little longer than a true 5k (coming in at 5.62k/3.5M), but an official 5k split time is available thanks to a timing mat at the 5k point. The 10k follows the same course as the 5k for much of the way, but adds an out-and-back detour through the streets of Gladstone for the extra distance. The 1-Mile Family Fun Walk is not timed and starts at the same time as the 5k/10k. After the race you can enjoy a breakfast (starting at 8:30am) and will continue with the other entertainment until 11am.
