I know, this is sort of short notice, but this looks like a fun race for a great cause, so check it out!

The Canby 5k, sponsored by Country Financial, is a fund raiser for Young Life. There is a 5k and a 10k, a BBQ, a Dragon Maze, and live music. And I like that the race starts at the odd time of 10:01a! But here’s why you need to hit “share” and post this on social media to help them spread the word: the race is Saturday, June 7, 2014!

The race will be chip-timed by the awesome team at Eclectic Edge, and the live music is country cover band Slicker.

Here are the vitals:

When: Saturday, June 7, 2014

What time: 10:01a

Where: Wait Park at 400 N. Holly Street in Canby

Register: Online here for the 5k for $20 or the 10k for $30 through 6/6. Add a shirt for only $5 more.

The 5k starts out by heading north on N Holly Street, a straight shot past the first mile marker taking out past IFA Nursery to NW 22nd Ave, where you’ll head west to N. Birch, which has a few fun curves before you reach mile 2 and then cross NW Territorial Rd. You’ll turn off N. Birch on NW 9th and then zip down N. Grant past mile 3 to the finish at Wait City Park.

The 10k starts out the same, but instead turns right and runs northeast on NW Territorial Rd. At Eco City Park, you’ll turn north and pass mile 2, running for a short stretch along the Willamette River before rounding the corner onto N. Maple for the mile 3 marker. You’ll head straight down to NW 22nd and then rejoin the 5k participants back to the finish.
