I know most of our readers are along the I-5 Corridor, but we do have some in Eastern Oregon – and some that like traveling for races. So to you, dear Eastern Oregon and will-travel-to-race readers, I say: Run to the Ruts looks cool.
First of all, I love the name.
Second, I love the illustration on this race flyer (click on “read more”) … and I hope it’s on the race shirts because not only is it a great image, it’s rare that you find something this unique on a race shirt lately.
Third, because it runs on trails with names like Panorama Point Trail and Ascent Trail.
Fourth … breakfast burritos at the finish.
Finally, because it’s a trail race held on National Trails Day, on which parking is FREE. So you can run the 5k or 10k and then spend the day enjoying the Oregon Trail Interpretive Center!
Get the full scoop on the course and find out how to register DOR or by phone here; and learn more about Trail Tenders, Inc., the non-profit putting the race on.
