Preview: Oregon State Police Fallen Trooper Memorial Run

OSP Fallen Trooper Memorial RunJune 1 is a busy day for racing, but one race that deserves your attention is the Oregon State Police Fallen Trooper Run. Proceeds from this event will go towards a physical memorial to honor Oregon State Police who lost their lives through their service.

The event, held at Champoeg State Park, offers a 10k, a 5k, a Kid’s 1k, and a CrossFit Relay for teams of six. There’s also a BBQ after the event which is only $5. Additional donations can also be made to the project as part of the registration.

The day will kick off with the Kid’s 1k at 8:45a, followed by the Relay at 9a. The 10k steps off next at 9:15a and the 5k is the last event to start at 9:30a.

The 10k and 5k courses are out and back; links to the routes are on the event website here. Champoeg is a beautiful place to run, with views of the Willamette River. The CrossFit Relay is a 3k out-and-back that all six of the team members will complete for a total team time.

One cool thing about this race is that they already have the link where results will be posted. Disclaimer: I am personal friends with the people that own Huber Timing, who are doing the chip-timing for this race. And they are awesome people.
