Race Preview: Get A Clue Scavenger Race

Get_A_Clue Looking for a fun-filled, mud-free adventure race?  This small-town race is one you don't want to miss this year!  Get A Clue Scavenger Race in Canby, Oregon is a team race with a variety of unexpected challenges and enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes.  As one contestant from last year recently stated, "Literally, the Canby Get A Clue race still is one of the most fun things I have done in a long time."

This race, in its 2nd year as Get A Clue, is for teams of 2-5 people. Teams will start out their adventure with a list of clues and a few specific destinations around Canby. The goal – earn as many points as possible by completing challenges and solving clues along the way.  Do you have to know your way around Canby to participate?  Absolutely not!  The race has been designed to challenge both the locals and out-of-towners alike.

While none of the challenges for this year’s race have been revealed, you can expect to challenge yourself mentally, physically, and maybe even socially if you’re the shy, quiet type. To give you an idea as to the type of challenges you may encounter, here are a few of last year’s:  archery, making a delivery for the florist, towel-drying a car at the car wash, finding answers to some historical questions at the museum,  putting together a puzzle, and even learning a cheer from the Canby High School cheerleaders.

Get A Clue is for runners and walkers alike.  The distance depends on the route you decide to take to get to the various destinations, but participants should expect to cover at least 3-6 miles.  Racers do not have to go to every destination/challenge along the way, but each challenged skipped means less points they have the opportunity to earn.  And, in the end, it’s all about the points – and, of course the total blast you’re guaranteed to have while participating!
