Somehow it’s already nearly April, and while that seems crazy, it also means that the Fit Right First Thursday Urban Adventure Run is back for the 2nd edition of 2014. This is a FREE group run/walk that is part scavenger hunt, part party, open to everyone.

Remember that this year’s events are at a different location than they were in 2013: you’ll find the festivities at the empty lot at NW 20th and NW Raleigh. Keep in mind, too, that limited parking is available, but only in yellow lined spaces in that lot. Fortunately there’s always a lot of street parking in that area if you go a few blocks of NW 21st and NW 23rd.

Here are the vitals:
When: Thursday, April 3, 2014
What time: The run starts at 6p, but we suggest you arrive by 5:45 to check in
Where: NW 20th and NW Raleigh – Con-Way parking lot
Register: Just check in and sign the waiver when you arrive – this is a free event
Bring: Your smartphone or digital camera to take a picture of the map; or if you’re old school you can use a pen and paper; your ID for post-run beverages, and warm clothes to put on after the run during the raffle
The April shoe sponsor is adidas – which means that if you get there early enough, you can try on a pair of their kicks for your run that day. It’s a great way to try out the latest gear. Other sponsors include the Cascade Lakes Relay, Freshii (one of my faves), and Stride Strong Physical Therapy LLC (another great company).
Other info you need to know:
As always, there’s free beer for participants, but only if you’re 21+ and bring your ID!
You can still get the 2014 First Thursday VIP shirt starting at either Fit Right Location for $25. Wear it to the run and you get three extra raffle tickets each month, plus access to the VIP Express Beer Line. Worth it.
You can also score free bonus tickets for you and your friends – learn how and pre-register online here.
