This weekend, Coach Jim’s free marathon training run is made up of two segments. You can run the entire distance with him, or join in on either loop – this makes it great for those of you not currently training for a spring marathon.
The total distance is 18 miles – the group’s first 18-miler of the season. The first loop is 8 miles and winds through NE Portland through some historically significant residential neighborhoods. It’s fun to check out all the cool houses! The second loop is a 10-mile out-and-back, up to University of Portland for 5 miles and then 5 miles back.

Where: Grand Central at 714 N. Fremont
Paces range from about 8:30-12:30/mile.
Please do not park in the Grand Central parking lot. They let the group use their restrooms and it’s nice of us to leave spaces for their other customers! There is plenty of street parking around the area.
