Get ready for 20 (or 12 or 8, as the case may be) this Saturday! This weekend’s free marathon and half marathon training run offers two loops. The first of 12 miles will climb up Terwilliger and the second of 8 miles will tour the Waterfront and include the lovely Tillicum Bridge.

This weekend, Coach Jim’s faithful group of experienced volunteer pace group leaders will lead runners on two routes that total up to nearly 19 miles. This weekend’s free spring marathon/half marathon training run is a 16-mile out-and-back on the Banks-Vernonia Trail. You may run the entire distance or turn back early, depending on your training schedule. There are permanent restrooms at the trailhead and two porta-potties near mile 4, which is are usually in good condition and stocked with hand sanitizer. Coach Jim’s run starts at Bridgeport Village this weekend – great location for all of you living in Beaverton, Tigard, Tualatin, Sherwood, Wilsonville, SW Portland, and Lake Oswego.
