The Victor Point School’s Run for the Hills takes place near Silverton on Saturday, May 21st. Victor Point is a rural K-8 school nestled in the Cascade foothills near Silver Falls State Park. The event offers a 1-mile kids race, a 5k/10k run and walk, and a challenging 15k course. Proceeds from the race benefit the students at Victor Point School. This year trail run series, which takes place on the second Saturday of the spring/summer months at state parks near the Portland Metro area. The 33rd Annual Silverton Health Fun Run offers a healthy way to celebrate Mother’s Day with a 5K road race and one-mile kid’s run. Held on Saturday, May 7th, this event was started in 1983 by local physician, Michael Grady, M.D. and attracts close to 800 participants. The race starts and finishes at the Silverton Health Family Birth Center at 342 Faiview Street in Silverton.
