Vested Interest: Staying Fueled with The North Face Summit Series Run Vest 10

This year’s North Face’s Summit Series Trail Running Kit year’s launch is upon us, with some nice updated colorways in select styles – Lava Red, Frost Grey, Pearl Stone, and TNF Black. These are super accessible and reflect the energy of spring and summer while maintaining the athlete-tested and expedition-proven technology that The North Face Summit Series is known for.

The Kit includes:

I wouldn’t call myself a vest aficionado, but I’ve definitely come to appreciate having a good one (or two) on hand for longer runs. Staying hydrated should be a no-brainer, but it hasn’t always been top of mind for me.

I’m usually not out for half-day missions with a full gear list—just trying to get a solid run in, maybe bring along a bit of water and some fuel. So having something that offers enough storage without overcomplicating things really hits the sweet spot.

The North Face Summit Series Run Vest 10 does exactly that.

Construction:

FLASHDRY fabrics help manage moisture when the effort ramps up, keeping things comfortable mile after mile – which is important when you are sweating bullets out there. It’s light, breathable, and strikes a nice balance between storage and simplicity—making it easier to actually bring hydration and gear along without it feeling like a chore.

I found dialing in the fit to be pretty straightforward, too. The bungee setup on the front might look a little intimidating at first glance, but adjusting it is really simple.

Storage:

Two chest pockets hold the included 500ml soft flasks, with elastic stabilizers that do a good job limiting bounce, while two lower chest pockets and a secure-zip pocket handle fuel and smaller essentials. If there’s a small knock, it’s that the flask pockets feel just a bit shallow—especially when the bottles are full. They fit, no question, but it can be a little snug getting them fully seated.

Around back, the 10L storage space is more than enough for layers, snacks, or even poles, and it’s all laid out in a way that feels accessible without being overly complicated. Stretch side panels and compression straps help fine-tune the fit, and extras like the horizontal trekking-pole sleeve and integrated whistle round things out nicely.

It all feels thoughtfully designed without crossing into overbuilt territory.

Overall:

All in all, The North Face Summit Series Run Vest 10 is a great vest for easing into longer, more ambitious trail days. It gives you the storage and organization you need without feeling like overkill, and the fit keeps things comfortable and locked in on the move. For kicking off the true spring trail running season, it’s the kind of reliable, no-nonsense piece that makes getting out the door that much easier—and keeps the focus right where it should be.
