If you love running, Eugene is basically your Mecca. This college town and legendary running city delivers miles of trails, unique neighborhood streets, and the University of Oregon campus itself—making it as fun to run as it is to race. And this year, the Eugene Marathon & Half Marathon weekend is back bigger than ever – AND ITS SOLD OUT!

All races—marathon, half marathon, 5K, and the Duck Dash—take place over one packed weekend, April 24–26, with starts and finishes at iconic Hayward Field. That means you’re surrounded by Duck spirit from start to finish, and with races spread across the weekend, you can even hit more than one start line and collect more than one medal.

Sunday morning is when the long-distance excitement kicks in. Both the marathon and half marathon start together from just outside Hayward Field, sticking together for the first 10 miles through charming Eugene neighborhoods and across campus.

At the Knickerbocker Footbridge, the courses diverge: half marathoners head back toward campus, while marathoners loop through Springfield on scenic paved park trails. Both races finish with a dramatic 200m sprint on the Hayward Field track.

For those who can’t pick just one race, the Krusteaz Doublestack Challenge lets participants run the 5K on Saturday and either the half or full marathon on Sunday, earning a bonus medal on top of the standard finisher awards.

The Eugene Marathon is the Pacific Northwest’s largest marathon and it’s always in the spring on the last Sunday of April. The course is largely flat, and runners will meander through Eugene and Springfield and along the Willamette River. You’ll have the opportunity to run in many of the same spots that world class runners like Steve Prefontaine have pounded the pavement (or track) for many years.

So, for the love of all that is holy – get registered for the 2027 event ASAP!
