Go the Extra Mile with tasc Performance Active Lifestyle Apparel

“Bamboo is Better”. This phrase was staring at me on the inside lid of the box that tasc Performance had so thoughtfully packed for me, and I really couldn’t agree more. In case you weren’t aware, bamboo is known for its sustainability and moisture-wicking properties, and it’s also really soft and breathable.

tasc is a family-founded company that started in the heart of New Orleans and had a mission to ditch harsh chemicals and synthetic materials in apparel, and they have made some wonderful clothes that are functional and comfortable, not to mention versatile and stylish. Seeing as how I pretty much live in activewear, I love that items in your tasc wardrobe can go from gym to grocery store and everything in between without looking sloppy or frumpy.

I was happy to get the opportunity to review the NOLA Long Sleeve T-Shirt and the Boundless Full Zip Hooded Jacket, which were both huge hits!

Looks & Fit

I received the NOLA Long Sleeve T-Shirt in two colors, a navy blue color called Cavern Heather and black. I received them in a size medium, which is my true-to-size in many shirts and these felt just right. They were neither too short (is the crop top trend over yet?) or too long and the sleeves were a great length. The heathered blue was subtle and gorgeous in person.

I received the Boundless Full Zip Jacket in a shade called Heritage Blue. I ordered it in medium, which fit very well. If you are between sizes, it would probably be a safe bet to get it in the larger of the two sizes, depending on your body shape, of course.

There’s not a ton of stretch to it and anything with a full length zipper is at the mercy of wide hips if you have them like me. The Jacket has a unique design that’s different than any others in my closet, with flatterning ruching around it’s raglan sleeves.  It’s also got two zippered side pockets.

Function & Construction

The very first thing I noticed about the NOLA T-Shirt that sets it apart from others is that it’s extremely soft. It feels like a luxurious quality-made shirt that will go with nearly anything. The 4-way stretch is really wonderful, as there’s a lot of give to it. Thankfully, it hangs well without being overly clingy.

What’s also really nice about the material is that it features UPF 50+ sun protection, so if you’re like me and forget to put on your sunscreen All.The.Time, it’s a nice built-in benefit (though certainly should NOT be considered a replacement for sunscreen, as every mom will remind you!). Of course, the real star of the show with the NOLA T-Shirt is, (as previously mentioned,) that it’s made with bamboo, as well as organic cotton.

The Boundless jacket has a water-resistant finish and is also wind resistant, which is very helpful at this time of year. There are also no chemical finishes, so you can rest assured that the jacket is ready to go as soon as you take it out of the box. It’s super lightweight too, with a lock down zipper and some zippered side pockets so you don’t lose your belongings. The sleeves have some elastic around the cuffs to keep the wind out, as well as a fitted hood opening.

Overall/For Consideration

tasc is a company you can stand behind, with lasting performance in their responsibly made products, no chemical performance treatments, and plant-based fibers. What’s great is that all the apparel in their active lifestyle collection is also both functional and adaptive, so whether you are wanting to run, work out, or kick back at home, tasc has got your back, and comfortably so!!
