It’s About Time to Run the Rock!

Alpine Running gives us some amazing trail running adventures and the Run the Rock is no exception. This race, held the weekend of November 8th and 9th,  hosts a 50k and a half marathon at Smith Rock State Park. Both of these loop-style trail races will offer participants some epic views of the Cascade Range and the breath-taking beauty of the Crooked River National Grasslands.

Those who choose the 50k on Saturday November 8th will be treated to almost all the trails in the Park, including Misery Ridge and passing right below the iconic Monkey Face. The total elevation gain and loss is 5000 feet and 85% of the course is single-track trail. The other 15% is double track and dirt road. You’ll have 4 fully stocked aid stations.

The half marathon will be the following day on Sunday, November 9th and it also boasts gorgeous views of the Cascade Range and Monkey Face. There’s one fully stocked aid station and about 2500 feet of climbing. 90% of the course is on single-track trails.

Pre-race, participants can enjoy some Back Porch Coffee and after finishing, all participants will be treated to a burrito bar and a beverage from Cascade Lakes Brewing or Athletic Brewing.  All runners get a custom award after they finish as well and the top 3 non-binary/male/females get awesome sponsor prizes.
