There’s a new race in the PNW, and it’s a beauty and a beast all in one! The 2025 Rainbow Ridge 20k/50k will be held on Saturday, October 11th and will be full of epic climbs through the old growth forests of the McKenizie River Valley on terrain atop old volcanic eruptions. There’s a 20k route as well as a 50k route to choose from.

The 20k starts from the Upper McKenzie Community Center and runners will climb 2600 feet to Kings Castle Summit. Check out McKenzie River Valley and the Cascade Peaks before venturing downhill for a fast finish.

The 50k includes a 15 minute shuttle to the start at Olallie North Trailhead, so don’t be late on race morning! From here, runners will head to Horsepasture Mountain summit. 360-degree views of the Three Sisters await as well as a ridgeline run past Macduff Mountain and a descent into the O’Leary/Castle Rock trailhead.
There is a final climb up to Kings Castle before runners get to a 6-mile downhill trek back to the Community Center on single track trail. There’s around 7000 feet of vert on this course, so get ready!

A portion of the race proceeds will go to Bridgeway House, which is a school for kids with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder.)
