Heavenly Miles: Running Angel’s Rest with Alpine Running

The Angel’s Rest is coming this October – and it’s gonna be a great one! Brought to you by Alpine Running, this Columbia Gorge race promises to be one for the books.

With stream crossings, challenging trails, and amazing views, the course will go by both Multnomah and Wahkeena Falls and will take you uphill through the rebirth of the forests burnt by the 2017 Eagle Creek fire.

Angel’s Rest has 3 different distances: a 50k, 20 miler, and 10K. All three will entail some serious elevation change, so be prepared for a challenge.

Pre-race, there will be Backporch Coffee brewing. And post-race, ETA will be providing an amazing spread of food. All finishers will receive a custom medal and the top 3 male/female runners in each distance will receive prizes from sponsors.

Be aware that there is a $5 park fee (credit card only) at Benson State Recreation Area. Alpine Running asks that you carpool if possible. Less cars in the parking lot means the possibility of not having to use shuttles to the start in the future. (And you’ll save a little money on the park fee, too!)

Just scrolling through pictures of this race has been enough to make me want to run this race. This looks like it will be so scenic, you might even forget (or at least forgive) the crazy elevation changes!

As part of the Youth Trail Initiative, there will be a discounted 10K entry for those under 20.

Angel's Rest (Cascade Locks) $75-$140
