It’s Cross Country Time! Run the Ultimook

It’s almost time for the 2025 Ultimook Race! This cross country-style race is out at the beautiful Hydrangea Ranch in Tillamook on September 6th. There will be a 3k and a 5k.

There are two shallow river crossings, a mud pit (make sure those shoes are tied tight!) and a mile of wood chip on trails. There is about a half mile of race on packed gravel as well. There will also be gorgeous flowers, but it’s not called Hydrangea Ranch for nothing – this is one of the largest flower farms in Oregon.

You can check out the 3k course map here and the 5k course map here.

Runners are encouraged to camp out on the farm both the Friday before the race and/or Saturday after the race, so bring your tent! The cost of camping Friday is $9 a person and includes a pre-race breakfast. Camping is free Saturday but not hosted. It’s a gorgeous location and there’s no reason you can’t make a fun weekend adventure out of it.

Check out this online form if you decide you want to camp at the Ranch (deadline is Sept 3rd at 8:00PM.) There is also a great campground 2 miles up the road called Klichis River County Campground.

Electricity, water, and some picnic tables and straw bales are available around the main pavilion area of the farm. There will be a spaghetti dinner Friday evening from 5:00PM to 7:30PM for participating teams for $13 a person. There will also be a showing of the XC move “McFarland” at dusk on Friday. There will be hot showers available all day into the evening on Saturday for $7.

Parking will be about a half mile offsite from the Ranch. There will be continual shuttle buses and the drop off zone is a short walk from the pavilion.

The Ultimook Race is a non-profit event, and it’s meant to benefit the youth runners of the Pacific Northwest.

Ultimook (Tillamook) $25-$30
