Jam-Packed Miles at the Huckleberry Running Festival

Looking for a fun summer race? Come run the 2025 Huckleberry Running Festival on August 2nd in Welches. There are a few options to choose from: There’s the Half Marathon, a 10k, or a 5k. There’s also a kid’s 1k.

The Half Marathon course is full of beauty, from a local golf course to the Cascade Range to the Salmon River. Expect to see some natural wildlife out there. The 10k follows the same course as the half other than about 6-7 miles through the National Forest, and the half crosses the Salmon River twice.

It’s a challenging course with some significant rolling hills. The 5k route is an out and back that will travel some pretty roads with scenic views, including a trek through the fairways and The Resort at the Mtn neighborhoods.

There will be no bag check for this race, but parking is close by if you want to leave stuff in your car for after the race. Carpooling is encouraged, and you can look for parking attendants along Woodsey Way and Salmon River Road near the school grounds at Welches Middle School, where the race starts.

There will be porta-potties at the race start and along the course, and there will be several aid stations as well.
