Fiesta to the Finish: Running Strong at the Cinco de Mayo races

Do you have plans for Cinco De Mayo this year? How about starting the day with the 2025 Cinco De Mayo Half Marathon/10k/5k?

This year, the race came under new management last year and continues to be produced by Negative Split, which hosts over 130 events throughout the Pacific Northwest. Once again, this year’s race will be starting and finishing at beautiful Sellwood Riverfront Park along the trails and city sidewalks.

Course Maps

The Kids Race will start at 8:45AM followed by the half marathon at 9:00AM. The 10k begins at 9:30AM and the 5k will follow at 9:45AM. There is a 3-hour time limit for the half marathon, which is roughly a 14-minute mile. You can check out the course maps here.

There will be aid stations approximately every 2-3 miles along the 10k and half marathon route which will have portable toilets and they will be stocked with water and electrolytes, gummy bears, and GU gels. It’s strongly encouraged that you bring your own refillable cups or bottles, but there will be some disposable cups. The 5k won’t have an aid station. There will, however, be toilets and a hand washing area available at the start/finish location.

There will be a gear check corral at this year’s race. Bags will dropped based on your bib number and should be picked up after you’ve finished your race.

Please plan on getting your race packet the day before the race, which will really help alleviate crowds and save time on race morning.
