Bib It Up: No Days Off, No Excuses with the Tracksmith NDO Bib

In my younger days, I was determined to never miss a run, prioritizing it above all else no matter what the day held. While many runners thrive on streaks, making them integral to their routines (kudos to them!), my journey has taught me to rethink what “no days off” means for me personally. After learning through trial and error, I’ve come to embrace a more sustainable approach, and the Tracksmith NDO collection aligns perfectly with this mindset.

Over time, I’ve come to understand that my personality leans toward an “all or nothing” approach. I’m either fully committed or completely disengaged, which has led to cycles of intense fitness followed by periods of inactivity. This imbalance has caused weight and energy fluctuations, along with injuries from overworking.

This year, I’m redefining “no days off.” Instead of chasing miles or hours of workouts, I’m focusing on consistency in self-care, embracing activities that nurture my well-being in any form they take.

Some days, that will look like carving out just 15–20 minutes for stretching, yoga, or meditation amidst work, family, and life’s demands. Other times, it’ll mean hitting the road for a long run to shake off anxiety. For those cooler days when I can step outside, Tracksmith’s No Days Off gear has become a trusted companion, keeping me comfortable no matter what form self-care takes.

A new item from this collection is the NDO Bib – a unique cold weather apparel item.

NDO Bib

Living in the Willamette Valley – as most of our readers do – we don’t often face extreme cold or snow. But traveling just 90 minutes east into the High Desert or Eastern Oregon often brings a different reality. Running in these conditions requires gear that pushes you to keep moving when everything inside you urges you to stay warm indoors. Enter the NDO Bib.

Construction:
  • 65% Merino / 35% Polyester Honeycomb Jacquard

We are probably all relatively familiar with cycling bibs, and this apparently the world’s first (unverified by Run Oregon) running version of that. This full-length bib is made from a warm Merino blend and featuring 37.5 Technology, keeps you warm while still allowing flexibility for running. It is designed to keep you as warm as humanly possible and still allowing movement for running and the ability to layer as needed.

The design also includes a large kangaroo pocket on the backside to store essentials when needed. Its simplicity and complexity wrapped into one.

I found the fit to be forgiving in the fit – offering tightness without compression and allowing for layering to exist – which is the main point of this item anyways. It may prove moderately more challenging for those times when you need to…relieve yourself…while on the run – definitely moreso for women than men.

All-in-all, it’s a really unique take that – while an investment – will absolutely be able to handle the long haul. I mean, this isn’t an item that is needed for every single chilly run. But for those times where you find yourself in those bitter cold temps – it’s here for you.
