If you’ve heard of GORE-TEX, (guaranteed to keep you dry,) then you know something about GOREWEAR, an innovative company founded in 1984 in Germany. They created the first waterproof GORE-TEX cycling jacket and have since become industry leaders in both comfort and protection for endurance athletes who need the most reliable products for the elements they can find.

The Concurve GTX Jacket jacket I reviewed in April is still my go-to jacket whenever the rain appears, and I was super excited to review the Everyday Thermo ¼-Zip, the Concurve Thermo Tights, and the R3 Gloves next, as warmth is paramount this time of year.
Looks
I received the Everyday Thermo ¼-Zip in a color called Process Purple and it’s a gorgeous magenta jewel tone. This top is also available in five other colors, from a bright orange/red hue called “Fireball” to basic black.

The Concurve Leggings came in a black/neon yellow combo. The yellow portion of the legging is just at the bottom calf area, which will help keep you seen on an early morning run. There is a raw cut bottom hem which lends itself to a sleek, unrestricted feel and look, and it’s also non-fraying. There are also a few reflective details.
The R3 Gloves came to me in black and had a few reflective elements as well. There is also an option to order the gloves in black and neon yellow, which would go perfectly with the leggings. I love the minimal and basic design of them.

Function
The ¼-zip is a great option for a cold day, as the fleece interior will keep you toasty. The first time I wore it, it was a bit over 40 degrees outside and I didn’t need a jacket over it. On colder days, you could layer this and stay very warm.

I love the folded over pockets on the leggings. There is no need for zippers and everything will stay protected from the elements with this style in place. The pockets are also generously sized, and there is one on the waistband along the back as well as one on the right-hand thigh. I put my phone in the thigh pocket and found that it didn’t weigh down the material or pull on the leggings. I also didn’t feel that it jiggled up and down as I ran.

The gloves were designed for runners to wear all year round. For such a simple design, they are surprisingly warm, but I wouldn’t expect anything different from GOREWEAR based on my other experiences with their gear.
Construction
The ¼-zip looks like any other athletic top at first glance, but the soft, brushed thermal interior is what sets it apart from the rest. It’s thick and warm without the bulk of a jacket. There’s a kangaroo pocket through the middle with zippers so you can lock stuff inside without the fear of losing anything. There are also thumbholes so you can keep your hands warm with or without gloves. This shirt is made with recycled content and is also pretty breathable.
The Concurve Thermo Tights are GOREWEAR’s warmest running tights, with a dope dyed, recycled, thermo brushed knit fabric. Employing a “Kinetic Garment Design” process, the tights are built to move, with fabric that can pivot in all directions optimally. This also means less seams (only one single leg seam, rejoice!) which means more comfort and less chafing potential. There’s also a nice wide, adjustable waistband and a double layered crotch gusset.
The gloves are made from a thermo-stretch functional fabric. Like the leggings and the ¼-zip top, these will keep you nice and warm on those brisk days without a lot of bulk like you’d get from most thermal gloves.
Fit
I received the ¼-zip in a size medium, which was my true-to-size and the perfect option for me. It would be easy to layer both under and over it in this size. It’s cut for a woman, tapering in a bit at the waist, but it’s not constrictive or tight through the shoulders like some women’s tops are. The sleeves are decently long and it holds a flattering shape. Some of the online reviews state that it runs a bit large, but I don’t find this to be the case, especially if you wanted to layer underneath it.

I also got the leggings in a size medium. I generally hover between a medium and a large in bottoms, depending on the material, style, and brand. The medium again turned out to be just right. I like my leggings to have just enough compression so that they feel secure and snug when I move, and these were great. They were not at all constrictive but also stayed put no matter how much I moved on my runs. The leggings were also nice and long, which would be a plus for those with longer legs.
I ordered the gloves in a size medium, and they could not have fit better. Gloves are often too narrow on my hands and the fingers are usually too long. The medium fit my hands and fingers both perfectly, with no extra annoying space at the tips. They fully covered my hands from fingertip to wrist.
Overall/For Consideration
I can’t say that I’m shocked that all of the GOREWEAR I received for this review was absolute perfection. This is always a consistant brand and the quality is top notch. I feel like all of the clothes I’ve received from GOREWEAR will last the test of time, despite all the wear and tear that will occur over the seasons. If you’re wanting a good brand for outdoors that will keep you both warm and dry, GOREWEAR is worth pursuing.
