Finding products that are both good quality and good for the planet is becoming increasingly more important, and I’m personally always happy to support companies like Branwyn Performance Innerwear.
Not only does this company support and empower active women with their line of naturally sustainable and non-toxic clothes, but their products are cozy, comfortable, and timeless. I was able to review three items from their SWAG 24 (Sustainable Wool Athleisure Gear) collection: A pair of leggings, a pair of joggers, and a hoodie.
All of these items are made from 85% Core-Spun Merino wool, which means they are moisture wicking, breathable, temperature regulating, and odor resistant. Made with certified mulesing-free Merino, all of these pieces are regenerative and made with sustainable materials free of toxic chemicals. Even the hang tag on the inside (perfect for a peg in your home when you want to dry them out,) is compostable.

Looks & Fit
The leggings arrived in Obsidian Black and they have a very simple look. I originally thought these had pockets when I viewed them online based on where the seams were, but they do not. There is a small key pocket hidden in the hem on the low back. I ordered them in a size large, as I am thicker in the thighs and hips. I was glad that I did. These are designed to be a slim fit, and they relax a bit between washes.

I ordered the joggers in a size large for the same reason as I did for the leggings, and they arrived in the Blue Pool color. These have a flattering slim fit that tapers down to a ribbed ankle. The pockets are flat (so easy to slide a phone into) and there’s a drawstring inside a nice wide ribbed waistband so you can adjust them to your liking.
The hoodie came in a color called Agave Green, which looked more like a slate gray to me. I got this in a size medium, which is my true-to-size in many tops, depending on the brand and style. This hoodie is meant to be oversized and is described as something that’s been designed to “float away from your body.”

I really like the fit of the medium, though I think a small would have worked just fine as well. There’s a kangaroo pocket and hand-dipped latex drawstring tips through the hood. There are also thumbholes and a good-sized hood, which is a definite plus for those of us who get cold easily!
Function & Construction
The leggings would be perfect for a morning yoga class or a quick jaunt out to the store. They are also a great piece for layering, and I wouldn’t be opposed to wearing them under a pair of jeans on cold days outside. They are nice and stretchy with a high waistband, which is a MUST for me because I am long in the torso and want to keep my stomach covered in the chilly weather.
Like the leggings, the joggers could be worn for pretty much any casual outing. These will most likely be used by me after rainy weekend runs since I often have a difficult time warming up after a morning in the wet cold. I put these joggers on for the first time after an especially rainy run and immediately started to feel my body reaching for normal temperatures afterwards.

They may look like an ordinary pair of sweatpants, but they are warm while not being heavy, which is really the miracle of merino wool.
As for the hoodie, this is a staple piece you could wear pretty much anywhere. Like the joggers, the hoodie is great for throwing on when you’re chilled and it will hold heat in really well without getting hot. I wore the hoodie to a Pilates Reformer class and it kept me warmer through the warm-up routine than many of my thicker hoodies. Merino wool is also not itchy like many other kinds of wool, and this hoodie is stretchy and soft.

Overall/For Consideration
The SWAG collection is a small batch limited edition, which means these items won’t be available forever. All are crafted from a super-fine 18.5 micron 85% Merino wool and the medium-weight 280 gsm interlock knit is “breathable, funk-free, temperature-regulating, and buttery soft from day one!”

All of the pieces from Branwyn are lightweight but warm, perfect for bringing up your temps when the sweat from a workout turns cold. As mentioned, these pieces are what I’m going to be reaching for time and again after a day of play in the winter. Cute enough to wear every day but warm enough to help in the elements, I imagine these will become well-traveled for camping and hiking adventures as well as errands around town.
