The 2024 Storm the Castle Half Marathon is back on December 7th! This is the only race on the Kings Castle and Castle Rocks Trails, staged at the Upper McKenzie Community Center in Blue River.
The course will be epic, but difficult, as you climb 2,815 feet during the first 6.5 miles of the lollipop looped course. Once you reach the summit, you’ll be rewarded by the breathtaking views of the Sisters mountains before heading back down.
This race is costume-themed, so dig out your best medieval garb and make sure it’s something that won’t chafe you for 13 miles. There will be a prize for best costume.
Even better, you’ll be fed when you’re done with this race, and you’ll have earned it! A hot lunch and beverages will be provided by Ninkasi Brewing as part of your entry fee. There will also be awards to the top runners, including a free pair of Altra trail shoes to the 1st place male and female. There’s an award for the King and Queen of the castle, those who first reach the top of the mountain.
