The type of sunglasses you wear can say a lot about you, and we are given increasingly more options every day. Companies like Blenders are fabulous, because they offer you a lot of great style options at prices that won’t completely break the bank. They are also quality products you can count on right out of the box.

Run Oregon got to test three options that have the following details in common: All provide 100% UV protection, all look best on a round, oval, or heart-shaped face, all are meant for a medium to large head size, and they are all unisex. But despite these similarities, they are all different in their own unique ways.
Looks
I received the Eclipse frames in the Saturn Cloud option. These polarized sunglasses are Blenders’ first wraparound sunglasses and they are slick. They remind me a bit of snowboarding glasses, but obviously without the bulk that you’d typically see in something that’s more like a goggle. These are gorgeous IRL, with a half-transparent clear frame and orange mirror lens.

The Pacer, which came to me in the Ice Blue colorway, has a Polarized PureBlend Blue Mirror lens color. These glasses are also a wraparound design but they offer a different look and style.

Lastly, the Romeo style glasses came in a color called “Stone Breaker.” These have a polarized smoke lens color. The frames look like a tortoise pattern but there are cool flecks of green and teal mixed in with gold and orange tones in the color palette that look amazing when the sun hits them.

Function
The vibe listed on the website for the Eclipse is “active” and it’s easy to see why. These glasses are meant to protect your face from all sides and the rubberized temple tips and nosepads are designed to keep them from sliding off so you can bop and bounce all around in these without worry. The polarized lenses will not only protect you from sun but will filter out the light and reduce glare when you’re outside.

The Pacer has a sporty vibe. As a runner, I see lots of glasses like these out on the roads and trails, and now I know why. The polarized lens offers a clear view of what’s in front of you and the wraparound style helps keep the dust away. Like the with the Eclipse frames, the Pacer has rubberized nose pads and temple tips help keep them from sliding.
The Romeo glasses are a lifestyle type which really means they work well for pretty much everything. They don’t have any rubber on them and are smooth and slick through and through.

Construction & Fit
Some sunglasses have a “loosy-goosy” feel when you open and close them. What that usually amounts to is glasses that fall off easily and don’t feel secure around your temples. That is not the case with Blenders sunglasses, and the quality is sturdy and durable.
The Eclipse and the Pacer frames both have a similar feel to them construction-wise. They are both a hard plastic, though the Pacer is a bit more lightweight than the Eclipse. The Eclipse feels like it sits off your face a bit more than the Pacer with its tighter fit, so preference is highly personal.

The Romeo style is more like what I typically wear, and if you’re used to square shaped glasses, these likely won’t feel too foreign. These feel heavier than the other two styles I received and there are no rubberized grips, but this isn’t surprising when you consider that these are more of a lifestyle choice than a sports option. They have a bit of heft to them, but it’s really more a testament to the quality of the glasses than anything else.
Overall/For Consideration
I would recommend any of the glasses I received, depending on what your purpose is. If you’re wanting a heavy-duty outdoor sports option, the Eclipse is likely up your alley. If you just want a great pair of glasses to hit the trails in, I would go for the Pacer in a heartbeat. If you’re planning to take a vacation and you want a pair of glasses for all occasions, the Romeo should fit the bill. If none of those appeal to you, Blenders has a whole lot of other sunglasses (and even some snow gear) on their website, including prescription and blue light options and snow googles.
